Hi again, weekend recap coming at ya :)

Did a little modeling on Friday morning for my friend Jamie. She has a photography business back at home and she's taking a fashion photography class here in Florence. Her first assignment was 'euro streetwear,' and she was to capture both stranger's and friend's (I think he wanted to see our attempt at dressing European) outfits. Something a little different than what I'm used to, but very fun none the less :)

Friday evening my friends and I bought personal-sized wine bottles and made the trek up to Piazzale Michelangelo, the highest point in Florence, to watch the sunset over the city and have some wine. There are no open-container laws or rules here in Florence, so anyone can take an entire bottle right to their face in public which is very comical to me. The sunset was stunning, and this place continues to amaze me everyday with its beauty and charm.

Saturday morning I woke up, went to the gym, and came home and made myself a delicious salad. Groceries here cost me roughly €25 a week, while a meal out is about €20. Because of this, I only eat out about once a week, as I can't justify spending any more than that when I don't have to! The kitchen in our apartment is fully furnished with everything I could need to make a meal, and I love cooking for myself, a win win situation.

On Saturday afternoon, my friend Jamie and I went to Gucci Garden, which is the Gucci Museum here in Florence. Every piece featured in the exhibit is one-of-a-kind and was made here in Italy sometime within the last 80 years. The exhibit featured everything from clothes to their vintage luggage line. I've attached pictures of some of my favorite pieces!

Leave it to Jamie to get us tied up in a legitimate wine tasting expo here in Florence. She heard 'Free Tuscan Wine Tasting' in one of her classes, and signed us up. We were notttt anticipating to show up to a legitimate expo with buyers and sellers and local Italian press covering the event on Saturday evening. It was a really fun event though, and we tasted some incredible wines. Essentially, I am now a wine snob  ;)

I have spent today in a coffee shop working on homework, catching up on readings, and prepping my notes for the week. It's been a very quiet and relaxing Sunday here in Florence, and I'm thankful to have spent the weekend here exploring my little city.

Ciao for now,
Katie girl
