Week 5
Every week classes start again, and I'm always amazed at how quickly time is flying by. Week 5, are you kidding me!?
One of my favorite parts about returning home after traveling is my Monday routine. After my yoga class finishes at 11:30, I hit the gym from 11:45-12:45, and then make my way over to my favorite fresh juice shop to stock up on juice and their homemade almond butter. After going home and showering up real fast, I hit the grocery store and stock up for the week. Does this make me old now? I like going grocery shopping?? I get excited about new, clean kitchen sponges??? Who am I.
Monday night we went out to a local bar called Lion's Fountain, which is an American college bar. There are college t-shirts hung up on the walls and the ceilings and you can sign your University's shirt. It was crazy packed inside, but they had the Warriors game on TV which made me a very, very happy girl. Should have worn my jersey-- next time :)
Today in my Mediterranean Diet class, we learned about olives and olive oil (I too, cannot believe that I'm actually getting college credits towards my degree for these courses). We then had a tasting of bread (which I passed on), cheese (also a pass from me), green olives, black olives, and olive oil from Tuscany and Greece. Popie, I like olives now!!! The tastings are actually quite interesting because my professor (who's also a culinary professor) always makes a note of pairings and specific flavors. Not going to lie tho, when she started sipping olive oil from a little cup, I did freak out a bit.
Off to Berlin early tomorrow morning to see my Dad :) Another quick but fun week in Florence!!
xoxo,
Katie girl
